Cast of Characters

Dr. B

Dr. B is my hubby, and I will most likely refer to him as B on the blog. B and I met on the track team at our small Division III school in Indiana. He ran the 400 and 800 and I was a 10Ker - which explains his disdain for the marathon I convinced him to run =)

B went to med school in Indiana and got matched into orthopedic surgery at University of Michigan last year. (bragging wife - it was his first choice, so he is pretty amazing). We moved to Ann Arbor in the summer of 2013 and his residency is 5 years long - so this is home! B is such an inspiration and a hard worker and I am proud to call him a doctor!

We got married at our alma mater on June 1st, 2013 - and it was truly one of the best days ever because we were surrounded by so much love and I was so excited to start my life with my best friend.

Yosey

Yosey is our baby (aka our dog). She was born on October 30th, 2013 - so she is still very much a puppy, and we love her playful spirit. Her name comes from Yosemite National Park, because that is were B and I went on our honeymoon and had SO many good memories! I have always loved dogs, but I did not expect her to become the center of our lives so quickly - she brings so much joy to our little world and when B works long hours and nights, she is my partner in crime!

My Family

When it comes to family - I am one lucky girl! I have 2 older brothers (who have made me an aunt of 3 boys and 2 girls - which includes 2 sets of twins). Both of my brothers and their families live in the midwest - but I still do not get too see them enough! My Mom and Dad are the most supportive and caring parents in the whole world. I do not know what I would do without them! They have been married for over 40 years and never missed an event of any of their children, so they are great role models in every way.
Through B, I gained 2 more amazing parents and a sister! B's family also lives in the Midwest and they own a very successful small business and are the hardest working people I have met!

My Friends

I am the type of person who likes quality over quantity in my friend circle and because of that I am blessed with some of the best, loyal friends around!

One of my best friends (Emily), is a true inspiration when it comes to fitness because she has completed 2 Ironman competitions (including Kona, the world championship!). She will be featured on the blog a lot, and she even has her own tab ("And the Best Friend"). If you are thinking about conquering an Ironman, please contact me and I can connect you to Emily!
